13 You can’t see it, but I’m walking out the door.
A platypus is a native of eastern Australia. They reside in freshwater lakes or rivers, and make burrows for protection and shelter. They are mainly active at night times. They swim beneath water for some minutes, and return to the surface again for oxygen. However, they are able to remain below water for nearly 10 minutes and utilize their webbed feet to swim. Platypus feeds on worms, freshwater insects, or insect larvae and use of their bills to feed. They retain their food in unique pouch behind their bills, and eat it when they come back to the surface of water.
