Puppies are born after around 63 days of gestation period. They develop very fast during the initial three months of their life, especially once their ears and eyes open. At this stage, they do not have to completely depend on their mothers. Their strength and coordination improves, they mingle with other litter-mates, and also start exploring the world beyond their kennels. They engage in wrestling, dominance, tug-of-war, and chase games. Puppies are extremely social creatures and majority of their time is spent interacting with their littermates or mother. Puppies also develop social skills near humans, when they are left to socialize with humans around eight to twelve weeks of age.
