#9 Las Vegas Anyone who has been told that their pet dog is dying will tell you that it’s not a nice thing to hear, and ultimately you really are losing a member of the family. So when Thomas Neil Rodriguez was told his dog Poh only had a few months to live, he was very upset. #8 Flushing Meadow Park Thomas and his fiancée decided to take Poh on an epic adventure – a seven-week road trip around the United States to see all the sights. At 15 years old, Poh is no longer a spring chicken, but he was certainly up to the task of embarking on this awesome journey and pictures as recent as last week show how happy he looks! #7 Hollywood “It was a great trip,” Thomas told ABC News. “I got to spend seven weeks with Poh. At first, I did not think he’d make it two weeks, but he did. I initially wanted to get him to the Pacific Ocean, I have always wanted him to swim.” “He loved it, it was so healing for him. It was like he was five years younger. He was walking with a lot of energy. #6 Washington D.C. Thomas even made an Instagram account called “Poh The Dogs Big Adventure”, which has nearly 12,000 followers since news of this travelling dog went viral. The Instagram account shows Poh’s travels to 35 of America’s major cities, spanning about 12,000 miles across the country. In some pictures he looks healthier than in others, but he always looks like he’s enjoying himself. #5 New York Thomas has had Poh since he was just an 8-week-old puppy. “I’m always travelling, but Poh is my home, my child. I think this resonated with a lot of dog owners,” said Thomas. “They wish they could do stuff like this with their dog and spend these moments, but sometimes life gets in the way.” #4 Jersey Shore Poh has had some health problems in the past, but this time veterinarians told Thomas there was nothing they could do for the poor pooch. “I would say sometime in February he started to get sicker,” Thomas explained. “I travel quite a bit but we came back from one trip and he was doing really bad. I’m unsure of how long he’ll live, doctors are unsure. My assumption is that I don’t have very long with him and that’s what prompted the trips.” #3 Austin, Texas Poh has seen more of the United States’ biggest and best landmarks than most Americans probably would have! “We even stopped by Walter White’s house in New Mexico,” Thomas laughed. “We went to The Goonies house in Oregon. There were some dog parks to go to. In Austin we went to a great dog park where he actually swam. It was a little bit for him, a little bit for me.” #2 San Francisco Here he is at the Oakland Bay Bridge in San Francisco. Since the Instagram page went viral, there have been thousands of comments supporting what Thomas has done for his terminal pet dog. Perhaps it will inspire more pet owners to take their pets with them on road trips rather than put them in kennels or leave them at home! #1 Seattle Clearly Poh is more interested in some sights than he is in others – like the Space Needle in Seattle. He’s actually looking up at it at least! In some other Instagram posts he looks like he’d rather be playing with a tennis ball or chewing on a nice juicy bone.
