This year, a strange mainstream game, Pokémon Conquest was launched which combined these pocket monsters with Nobunaga’s Ambition, the obscure strategies series. But Tecmo Koei, the original developer, had made a pitch to Nintendo after combining Pokémon with Dynasty Warriors, their more popular franchisee. Nintendo, however, suggested teaming up with Nobunaga because these Warriors games happen to be more violent than it would like Pokémon to be. It was perhaps a strategy to ensure public policy of not escalating violence of any sort, especially when the game involved the participation of young children. Most game manufacturers keep this always in mind.
