Sridevi Painted Not Only Sonam Kapoor’s Portrait But Also Of This Popular Pop Singer
Sridevi was a multi-talented person. She was not only a superb actress but also a painter. Her death on 24th February in Dubai came as a shock to everyone. Her death was caused due to accidental drowning in the bathtub. Her last rites took place yesterday in the Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium at around 4 pm. From Shah Rukh Khan to Amitabh Bachchan to Sushmita Sen, many Bollywood celebrities were present at the crematorium.
She made paintings in last few years including the paintings of Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor. In one of her interviews, Sridevi talked about Salman’s painting that was made by her. She said, “I have a few of his paintings, which he gifted me. We both made one painting together, which I think he has. He’s so creative and talented.” Earlier one of the sources revealed, “Sridevi has been painting for many years. It’s her favourite pastime. In 2010, an international art house approached her to auction her work. But she didn’t agree. Since the event in Dubai is for a noble cause, it drew her.”
In 2010, one of her paintings was auctioned in auction house Christie’s. In 2014, her painting of Michael Jackson created a buzz and it was to be auctioned in Dubai along with her painting of Sonam Kapoor. It was her hobby to paint and she used to dedicate about 5-10 hours a week in painting. A source said, “Apart from Sonam’s portrait, Sri has painted several other family members too, but she does not like sharing the images of her paintings. Her passion is extremely personal to her. She began painting at a very young age and despite the insistence of several friends and family members, she has not agreed to host an exhibition of her work till date.”
