BCCI To Contribute Rs 20 Crore For Welfare Of Indian Armed Forces

As India mourns the irreparable loss of CRPF personnel to the recent terrorist attack at Pulwama, it is the families of these brave hearts that needed the nation’s utmost support. The BCCI will donate Rs 20 crore for the welfare of armed forces in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack.

The BCCI already planned to invite senior notability from the Indian armed forces on the day of the IPL opener in Chennai between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The CoA decided that there will be opening ceremony, the allocated money for the ceremony will instead contribute the entire budget for the welfare of armed forces.

The budget of the IPL opening ceremony was around Rs 15 crore, and now it has decided that it will raise it to Rs 20 crore.

As an act of generosity and support, the acting president CK Khanna, who initially said that Rs 5 crore will be given to the families of Pulwama martyrs. He said “I am not aware of the amount that CoA has earmarked for donation. If it is Rs 20 crore, then it is a piece of great news. This is the least we could do for our soldiers.’

During the third match of the recently concluded India-Australia ODI series, the Indian team wore camouflaged army caps as a mark of respect for the armed forces, a gesture that drew mixed reactions from the fans.
