8 Underrated TV Shows From Yesteryears Which Were Way Ahead Of Their Time

8. Nukkad
Nukkad was aired on the Indian television channel DD National in 1986–87. Starring Dilip Dhawan, Rama Vij, Pavan Malhotra, Sangeeta Naik, Avtar Gill in lead roles, Nukkad was based on everyday issues of lower income people and often revolved around one or two specific characters. While some episodes ended on hope and positive consolation, other had strikingly sad but realistic conclusion. The show became so popular that the producers decided to re-launch the Nukkad brand in 1993 in a new modern “avatar”. It was titled Naya Nukkad and included the original cast with new characters. However, sadly Naya Nukkad did not match the popularity of the original Nukkad series.
Characters like Khopdi, Kaderbhai and Ghanshu Bhikari became everyone’s favorite.
