15 Secret Places Which We Are Not Allowed To Visit! Are you a hardcore tourist at heart? Do you think you've visited it all? And do you think you can visit it all? No matter how much you have traveled, and no matter how much of the world you've seen, you can never ever visit everything because some places are just kept out of the public's reach! 1. Metro 2 Metro-2 is the informal name for a purported secret underground metro system which parallels the public Moscow Metro. The system was supposedly built, or at least started, during the time of Joseph Stalin and was codenamed D-6. The length of Metro-2 is rumored to exceed that of the public Metro. It is said to have four lines, and to lie 50 to 200m deep. It is said to connect the Kremlin with the Federal Security Service (FSB) headquarters, the government airport at Vnukovo-2, and an underground town at Ramenki, in addition to other locations of national importance. 2. Area 51 This is one of the most popular places that is kept out of public reach - popular only due to the rumors of interaction with aliens that are speculated to take place from this facility. Till date, the official purpose of the facility has not been disclosed by the US government, which only adds to raising more eyebrows. 3. Jiangsu National Security Museum It is a museum in China that is known to hold various kinds of military tools such as spy gear. The museum is open only to Chinese people, that too a very few. Photography is not allowed once inside, and the people who are allowed in are kept under strict restrictions. 4. White's Gentlemen's Club White's is a gentleman's club in St James's Street, London. It is the oldest and most exclusive gentleman's club in London. It gained a reputation in the 18th century for both its exclusivity and the often raffish behavior of its members. It is an all-men's club, and only highly dignified persons are allowed to be members of the club. How dignified? Well, let's just say that you've to be a Prince to be a member! 5. Room 39 Room 39 is a secretive North Korean government organization that seeks ways to maintain the foreign currency slush fund for the country's leader Kim Jong-un. The organization holds as much as $5 billion in funds, and may be involved in illegal activities, such as counterfeiting $100 bills, production of controlled substances, and international insurance fraud. Although the seclusion of the North Korean state makes it difficult to evaluate this kind of information, many claim that Room 39 is critical to Kim Jong-un's continued power, enabling him to buy political support and to help fund North Korea's nuclear weapons program. 6. Coca Cola Secret Recipe Vault The world of coca cola interactive exhibit in Atlanta, Georgia, is a place frequented by tourists, but not everything there is accessible by the public. There is a dedicated vault that holds the secret recipe of Coca Cola. After it was invented in 1886, the recipe was shared only with a few people and never written down, until it was finally put to paper and secured at Sun Trust Bank. As recently as 2011, it was moved to this new facility. 7. Google Data Centres Google data centers exist all over the world and can be accessed by only a select few. These places are loaded with thousands of servers and store humongous amount of user information. These high levels of information need to be kept highly secure in this increasingly digital world, and as such, the amount of security at these places in totally understandable. 8. Chapel of the Ark of the Covenant The chapel is believed by many to be the final resting place of the Ark of the Covenant that hold the ten commandments. It is protected by a single high priest who is charged with its care and preservation. He is the only one allowed to look at the Ark and the only one who knows how to locate it within the chapel. He is never allowed to leave the Chapel, and shall name a successor on his deathbed. It has never been allowed to be out for public view, and the amount of secrecy regarding the viewing of the Ark has led to numerous questions popping up about the truth of the Ark actually being there. 9. Javari Reserve Located in Brazil, the Javari Reserve is the largest concentration of tribes in the world! Satellite imagery shows at least eight tribes existing there. The reserve is in the Amazon jungles, and the people allowed in are strictly regulated both by the Brazilian and the Peruvian governments. 10. Bank of England Vaults Located in London, it is the Central Bank for the United Kingdom, the model on which most modern banks are based. However, beneath the city is a vault that contains 156 trillion pounds of gold, because of which extensive security measures have been taken â€“ security measures that include 91 cm long keys, and anonymous employees with whom they are kept. Not very tough to understand why civilians aren't allowed, is it? 11. Vatican Secret Archives The Vatican Secret Archives are not actually so secret, after all. They remained absolutely closed to outsiders until 1881, when Pope Leo XIII opened them to selected outsiders. These days thousands of researchers examine its documents each year, but given that the archives contain 52 miles of shelving, some have suggested dark secrets from the past could be lurking, waiting to be discovered. 12. Snake Island About 90 miles from the city of SÃ£o Paulo lies Ilha de Queimada Grande, or "Snake Island" - a place so filled with venomous serpents that it's been called one of the world's deadliest islands. Scientists estimate that up to 4,000 snakes live on the 110-acre island - that's one snake for every six square yards. Queimada Grande is the only known home of the golden lancehead, one of the most venomous vipers in the world. The snake's venom is said to be three to five times stronger than that of any mainland snake. 13. North Sentinel Island This is one of the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal, where a group of indigenous people, the Sentinelese, live. Their population is estimated to be between 50 and 400 individuals. The Sentinelese reject any contact with other people, and are among the last people on earth to remain virtually untouched by modern civilization. Recent attempts to contact the tribe have been met with arrows and stones. More tragically, on 26 January 2006, two fishermen were killed when their boat drifted near the island. 14. Surtsey Surtsey is is a volcanic island located off the southern coast of Iceland. It was formed in a volcanic eruption that began in 1963 and ended in 1967. No humans are allowed on the island - bar a few scientists - to allow for natural ecological succession to take place without outside interference. 15. Mount Weather The Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center is a civilian command facility in Virginia, US. The facility is a major relocation site for the highest level of civilian and military officials in case of national disaster, playing a major role in US continuity of government.
