Virat Kohli Vows To Go Shirtless On The Street If Team India Wins 2019 World Cup
At Book launch of ‘Eleven Gods & A Billion Indians’, Sourav Ganguly said that, “Virat struggled in England (in 2014) and in less than six months’ time he scored four hundreds in four Tests in Australia. I’ve not seen any Indian batsman play so well in Australia,”
Sachin (Tendulkar), Rahul (Dravid), VVS (Laxman) and I — we all got hundreds in Australia, have but what Virat did in those four Tests was something I’ve not seen for a long time. That actually, transformed him,” Ganguly added.
Ganguly also appreciated the way he is balancing the captaincy and batting responsibilities. “There is a thin dividing line between the two which often gets blurred. Virat has not let captaincy interfere with his batting. His record speaks for itself,” Ganguly added.

He was quoted saying-“I can guarantee that, if he (Virat) wins the World Cup final at Lord’s in 2019. We better get our cameras ready, as he’s got six packs, I would not be surprised if he’s on Oxford Street with the trophy and his shirt off,”
To this Virat replied saying that-

For sure, Hardik will be following me. 120 per cent. Bumrah is there as well because he has six packs too. He is there in the game. There will be a few candidates.”
“I clearly remember that night. The game started brilliantly. Those totals were very difficult to get. I slept off when we were five down. I went off to sleep. My brother woke me up and he said we were winning. I was like: ‘what are you talking about?’”
We know what happened next. India won the match. Crowd went crazy and so the captain of the team- Sourav Ganguly. In excitement he pulled of his shirt. Re-calling that moment and Kohli said-
“You are not worried about being judged. You cannot be a robot. You have to be honest to yourself. If you are not yourself, you will sleep with regrets. I am sure that moment was very organic – he did not care whether he was at the Lord’s balcony. He could have been anywhere in the world. That was just pure human emotion coming out. That moment was organic, that is how he wanted to enjoy himself after the win. It was just pure joy. It is very important to be honest to yourself.”
