Shraddha Kapoor is a known Indian actress who was born in the year on 3rd March 1987 in Mumbai. She was born in the B Town baddie – Shakti Kapoor family and thus defines herself to be a half Punjabi and half Marathi. Shraddha Kapoor did her schooling from Jamnabai Narse School and then went to American School of Bombay. During her student life, she also was seen playing handball and football competitively. Later she headed to Boston but left in the midst to take up her acting career in the film called Teen Patti. She was approached by the producer of this film, Ambika Hinduja who found her over Facebook for the said film. Her performance in her first movie was applauded by the critics and other people in the Hindi movie industry.
Though she was raw in the movie but her potentials to act better and smarter was sensed by the critics and movie makers in Bollywood yet managed to get the nomination for debut film actress in Filmfare. Her other movies include Luv Ka The End in the year 2011 while her 2013 movie – Ashiqui 2 gave her accolades from different quarters of Bollywood for playing the character of Arohi in the said film. This again gave nomination as best actress in Filmfare awards. She comes from a mixed ethnic family who was born and raised up in Bombay. Her father is the famous villain of Bollywood- Shakti Kapoor, while her mother, she gets her Marathi ancestry.
Shraddha signed a 3 film deal with Yash Raj group, which features the early two movies (Teen Patti and Luv Ka The End), however, she denied working in its third movie Aurganzeb and break the contract to take her role in Aashiqui 2 of Mahesh Bhatt. Her performance in the film brought forth loads of applauds from different quarters of the film world, while in the Box Office, the movie was regarded as a big hit making 1.10 billion INR and was regarded as blockbuster by the BOI (Box Office India). All the film critics had good and positive remarks about the movie. Her performance gave a couple of nominations in the Best Actress Category, which gave her the Screen Award.
She was also recognized for the other awards as well. She was seen in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein in a guest appearance, wherein she is playing against Imran Khan, while her upcoming movie is Villain of Balaji Films and Haider, which is inspired by Shakespeare’s movie Hamlet. Apart from her acting, she was seen over the ramps of Lamke Fashion Week and IIJW (India International Jewellery Week), while endorses a couple of brands like Titan, Vaseline and Gitanjali. Talking about her personal life, she has been linked with Aditya Roy Kapur after working with the film Aashiqui 2 and now with Farhan Akhtar after she worked with him in the film Rock On 2.
In fact, she was also alleged to have gone Live-in with the actor but the two have always denied the same calling the same to be a gossip. Some of her recent movies include Baaghi, Rock On 2 and the recently released movie with Aditya Roy Kapur called OK Jaanu. Her upcoming movies include Half Girlfriend directed by Mohit Suri opposite Arjun Kapoor, which is based on the novel of Chetan Bhagat with the same title. The film is into post production phase and is likely to hit the theatres in couple of weeks. She is currently doing a film called Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai playing the character called Haseena Parkar. The film is likely to hit the theatres somewhere in the late 2017.
