A comical and masala entertaining film : Nanu Ki Jaanu !

Story – The story line of the entire film primarily revolves around a brash and crass land mafia agent in Delhi that is Nanu played by Abhay Deol. He faces a very bad tumultuous crisis and his life is in a soup that’s both his personal and professional life as an unwanted ghost entity played by Patralekha Paul apparently permanently resides in and also occupies a new flat that he wants to snatch, grab and usurp.

Review – Nanu and his complete gang of goons run a very profitable and lucrative operation in Delhi where they originally rent a home but ultimately they end up usurping and snatching it, thanks to a fool proof planning that requires them to be ruthless.

Then on one fine day, just totally and completely out of character for Nanu, Nanu does a good deed and work by immediately taking an accident injured victim to a hospital. This good samaritan and knight in shining armor act of his slowly and gradually just starts to be changing and transforming him into a person that he never imagined himself to be. He almost was on the brink and verge of going through an existential crisis for the same.

He after that crisis really can’t just bring back his attention, emphasis and focus on alcohol, women or his criminal life as a mafia. His emotions start running to the extremes like very high and low and even his sidekicks and minions can’t stop him from ultimately being turned into a mushy wreckable person of emotions that he isn’t. If his emotional problems were not enough, another one crops out of no where and just jumps out at him and this time it is a spiritual one. A ghost (Patralekha) has occupied and started residing in the latest flat that Nanu plans to usurp and snatch and that ghost is apparently in love with the strapping young goon that’s Nanu.

‘Nanu Ki Jaanu’ this film apparently has bought together Abhay Deol and Manu Rishi in a similar type of story setting after ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ (2009) where both play North Indian con men this time as well.

But this time around we can say that definitely, the sparks have happened like how they did the last time they teamed up for the successful collaboration in ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ (2009). While the story line and plot of the film is kind of very quirky yet unique and interesting, the execution of the entire story is also amazing especially when it comes to the horror elements.

The ghost played by Patralekha Paul in the film over here is humorous and funny which is a plus for this film and a visual treat to be watched by audiences in theatres considering it is a horror romantic comedy film which is a clean and complete family masala entertainer film that can be watched by everyone with their families.

The comic relief in the film is in the form of stellar acting and mind boggling performance and dialogues by the duo of Manu Rishi and Abhay Deol. The only reason that the movie is a must watch is because it is a horror themed romantic comedy film that really doesn’t have horror but contains the essence of it similar to Golmaal Returns back in 2017.

Over all its a nice, happy, comic, and entertaining film that can be watched by all in the theatres.
