Story:

The story revolves around a poor single mother who has an ambition-less daughter. The film deals with the Psyche of both the characters and how they come up to life in a positive way.

Plot:

Swara Bhaskar is playing a maid character ‘Chanda’ who nurtures her furious daughter Apu (Riya Shukla). Apu finds it hard to believe that she will ever have a bright future as her mother is just a maid. On the other side, Chanda does every possible thing to make her daughter feel good about herself and wanted to see her out of the poverty life after her good education. Apu thinks that she can never be successful in her life because of poverty but her mother has some bright dreams for her. Chanda is helped by her employer, the role which is played by Ratna Pathak, to come up with an idea  that will put her daughter on the right track. Apu’s Maths teacher ‘Pankaj Tripathi’ turned the table really well with his brilliant performance.

Direction, Music, and Screenplay:

Ashwini Iyer Tiwari directorial debut with ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ is flawless as the characters essayed the hard-hitting story with very much ease. The music department is handled by Kunal Sharma and the song ‘Maths Mein Dabba Gul’ is already hitting the right chord with the audience. The screenplay of the film flows brilliantly without any hiccups in the story and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Neeraj Singh, and Pranjal Choudhary must be commended for that.

The last word:

A must watch movie for all cinema fans for whom ‘Simplicity matters’. The film is not a mainstream one but surely make you feel good after watching the brilliance of Swara Bhaskar, Riya Shukla, Ratna Pathak and Pankaj Tripathi. A very good film sketching the bonding of mother – daughter story.
