Karthika Nair is an actress who is popular more in the South Indian film industry rather than any other. She was born on 27 June 1992 in Mumbai in a popular south Indian actress called Radha. She happens to be the niece of actress Ambika, while she has two siblings, a brother and a sister, Thulasi Nair, who happens to be a South Indian actress. Talking about her schooling, she went to Podar International School in Mumbai and studied for an international degree in Business from college affiliated to London School of Economics. As she happened to be the background of films from her mother, she chose this field for the same.
Karthika Nair made her debut in the year 2009 in a Telugu film, Josh opposite Naga Chaitanya. However, she rose to fame starring in her second and her first successful Tamil film Ko opposite Jiiva. The second film did the best over the box office giving her a good recognition in the media. Some of her films include Makaramanju, Dammu, Kammath & Kammath, Annakodi, Brindavana, Brother of Bommali and Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai. Her current Tamil film Vaa Deal Films is in post production phase and is likely to hit the theatres this year.
Talking about awards and recognition, Karthika Nair has been applauded a lot at a number of platforms, which include Santosham Film Award for Best Debut Heroine for the film Josh in the year 2009, Kerala State Film Critics Award for the Best Début for the film Makaramanju in the year 2011, Vanitha Film Award for Best Début for the same film Makaramanju in 2011 along with getting another for the same film for the best female debut from SIIMA. The very same year also gave her the Jaya TV Award for the Sensational Debut Heroine – Ko’. Talking about her personal life, she is still single and not keen to mingle with anyone as she is focusing more on her career.
