The beautiful Ileana D’Cruz has a magical screen presence in her films. She has worked in many commercially successful Telugu language films before venturing into Bollywood films with the award winning film Barfi.
Illeana is often referred to as Goan Beauty. She was born on 1 November 1986 in Panaji Goa. She has two sisters, she is the middle child. She belongs to a Roman Catholic family. She studied in St Xaviers Higher Secondary school in Mapusa in Goa. As a child, her hobbies were swimming, dancing and photogroahy. She moved to Mumbai while pursuing her higher education. She ventured into modeling during her graduation. Her tall and slender figure got her many successful modeling assignments along with TV commercial campaigns.
Illeana entered film industry with the Telugu film Devadasu in 2006. It was a major commercial success and she won the best female debut award that year. Her next film was Pokiri. Although she acted in Tamil and Kannada too, she is mainly known for her work in Telugu films. After her successful stint in Telugu films, she was offered a supporting role in the film Barfi. She was cast alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. The film was a major commercial and critical hit with the other two actors winning Awards for their performances.
Illeana got many other commercial films such as Phata Poster Nikla Hero, Main Tera Hero, Happy Ending that were moderate success. In 2016, she worked with Akshay Kumar in the film Rustom. It was a potential role which fetched her recognition.
Illeana was always a news maker for her bold appearance and statements. She once gave a statement that she enjoys sex and it is a major relaxation for her. The statement did not go down well with the conservative society in South India.
