Deserts usually remind us of infinite stretches of sands, scorching heat and slowly moving camels. But, what surprised me was the wide variations in temperature that Sahara desert experienced in January 2012. It snowed at the Sahara deserts in 2012 and exceptionally the snow stayed for a good amount of time.
It was after February 1979 that such a phenomenon was seen at the largest desert in the Africa. It was a treat to eyes for people who lived around and gave them a reason to celebrate climate.
