Darasing Khurana : My personal travel experience to France

Paris is on everyone's wish list, from being one of the most visited destination in the world, France has everything from oceans to fashion! I found it to be a very convenient place. Most of the people spoke English and weren't rude.The best time to visit Paris is the spring which is from April to June, or fall which is Sept to November. The average temperature remains from 8-12 degree during these months. It's necessary to carry your winter wears when in Paris during this time. Myself along with friends planned to travel to Europe after our MBA exams, we knew this was our last trip together as bachelors, that made this trip even special. France being a very Popular nation in the Europe, there are direct flights from Mumbai to Paris,France. But since I was already on a Euro trip, I along with my friends took a bus from Brussels,Belgium to Paris which was a 3.5 hour journey. For people who love driving ,it's very easy to hire a car and drive around, not to forget , the cars in France are Left hand drive. If you are the one who likes to take a back seat, then there are plenty of options for you aswell, the trains and busses can take you anywere in France. We had pre booked our hotel Mercure Opera Garnier. I personally fell in love with this hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious and yaa not to forget the breakfast was just to sinful.A great start to day! Main highlights start from here itself . So post finishing our breakfast, we decided to head for some sightseeing on our day 1 When in Paris, what can you start with ? It of course had to be " highlight of Paris " -‘La Tour Eiffel’. Admission fee for Eiffel Tower : If one wants to use the steps for first two floors it will cost you 4euros . If u want to use the elevator its 4.80 euros for first floor , 7.80 euros for the second and 12 euros for the top level. The Eiffel Tower is divided in 3 levels .We went to first two floors with the help of steps .But the highest level -3rd level can be visited only by elevator. The view of the city from level 2 and 3 is just breathtaking, it blew my mind and took me to another world altogether. Ah! my only wish in life after I visited Eiffel was, if i could stay on top of the tower overnight. We then took a boat trip with ‘Bateaux Parisiens’at the foot of the Eiffel Tower . It’s basically an one hour trip on the Seine that takes you along several highlights of Paris like Musee du Lourve, Musee d O'rsay, Hotel de Ville . You can just sit back, relax and enjoy !!! Tip: The Eiffel tower looks stunningly beautiful during the night, specially when it glitters for 5 minutes after every hour.Dont miss it !! We walked the lanes of Paris and went back to hotel early, had our dinner and were off to bed waiting for our second day in Paris to start. It was a sunny day, next on our list was the world famous museum "The Louvre". Its located at a place called Malraux. I personally quite liked this Museum. It has around 35000 works of Art . Goshhhhh!!! And they all are amazing : from Monalisa to Venus de Milo and many more to name. One can easily spend few days trying to see all the artwork this Museum has to offer!! Its open from 9am to 6pm everyday except Tuesdays . Admission procedure to enter Museum : You have to purchase ticket costing 9 euros for Permanent Collections and +0.50 more i.e. 9.50 euros for Temporary Exhibitions that happens . If u wanna go for both then a combined ticket will cost a total of 13 euros. By the way if u dont wanna pay and still visit the musuem , admission to the Louvre is free on the first Sunday of every month. (This excludesTemporary Exhibitions though, u have to indeed pay for them) . And our day ended in the musuem itself . We had some Wine and Pasta on our way back to the hotel and were off to bed. We on our third day , after getting ready headed to Jardin des Tuileries. It looked so gorgeous. Post which we walked to the biggest square in Paris which is called Place de la Concorde. Here one can see the Obelisk from Luxor which was a gift from Egypt and is considered to be thousands of years old. We were very eager to shop, hence winded up quickly and headed to the very famous street in France, Avenue des Champs Elysee. Thats when i started to believe, yes, money can buy you happiness! You name the brand and you have them all at this street, I almost spent everything I had and all i could get myself was a pair of denims, shirt and a bag. Post shopping we went for the Lido show. It is one of the top 10 shows in the world and is one of the greatest spectacles available in the city of lights.It has everything you would expect from a club with a reputation matched only by the infamous clubs of Las Vegas which were born from the tradition of Paris cabaret. After the show my friends were tired, so they headed back to the hotel, whereas I ended up going to my favourite place Effiel tower . I could get over the beauty of Eiffel, just sat under it and did not realise when 2 hours passed. Paris has given me some unforgettable memories for life. It just took my heart away and thats when I promised Paris to meet again. SMALL TIPS: Love fashion ? Want to visit the top brands of the world ? Hop to Shanzelize, in Paris. The fashion capital of the world. This city of love doesn’t fail to impress you. Visit the Eiffel tower, and take a pass to the third level of Eiffel tower, you'll actually feel you are watching entire Paris from the sky! Disney land in Paris is a good destination to spend a day if you are visiting with kids. Shopping ? You can spend all the money you have, and all you would get is a Louis Vuitton bag! Be very careful, Mumbai is safer than Paris.
