Celebs Rocking the Best Air Jordans of All Time
#5
Air Jordans hold a special place in the world of celebrities and here Washington D.C. bred hip-hop artist Wale can be seen sporting a pair of Jordan 17’s.
The 17’s were released in 2001 and were worn by Jordan himself during the 2001-02 season, when he decided to step down from his position inside of the Washington Wizards front office and back onto the court to show his young team how to ball. In his first game back (again) Jordan dropped 19 points, six assists, five rebounds and 4 steals, while playing 37 minutes versus the New York Knicks following a three-year layoff. The 17’s were inspired with a jazz theme which is why they even have their own jazz song titled “The Greatest”, which was performed by saxophonist Mike Phillips. Upon their original release the sneakers were sold with an interactive CD-ROM disc inside of a metal briefcase; now that is sophistication.
