The roots(sadness) is where you get all your foundation from. They will provide you with the food required to flourish the branches(happiness). So, what comes to your mind when I talk about happiness? Imagine a newborn enjoying a bath for the first time or a blind person getting his sight back after a surgery. Even the greatest of the writers fall less of words to express these emotions. At times, words are less, but pictures surely make them a bit more easy to express.
