Well marrying a narcissist might not be QUITE that intense, but the message is the same – he will put himself above you, and place a higher value on himself than on you, and that’s never what you want out of a husband! 2 The Bad Boy Every girl is attracted to the bad boy image but the reality is that once the sexual tension and excitement of it all subsides, you’re stuck dating a jerk, and marriage won’t be any different. Prepare to be let down, screwed over, humiliated, and upset for the rest of your life as you struggle to keep this guy on an even keel. 3 The Commitment-phobe You might think you’ve achieved the unachievable by having a man who is notoriously afraid of commitment to finally bite the bullet and propose to someone (that someone being you) but he will still always be a commitment-phobe, and a ring on his finger won’t change that! Marrying this guy could mean no children, late nights at home wondering where he is, and lots of weekends away with the guys to just “get away from it all”. 4 The Metrosexual You might be the type of girl to go for more of a sensitive new-age guy with different priorities and a different lifestyle to your typical manly man and that’s fine, but just make sure your fiancé isn’t girlier than you are! If his bathroom supplies take up more room than yours do, he spends longer at the shopping mall, and all your hobbies are pretty much parallel, these are warning signs rather than blessings! 5 The Mama’s Boy Pay close attention to a guy’s relationship with his mother before he gets around to popping the question, and be very careful when giving him your answer – if he treats his mum like crap than chances are he will treat his wife like crap too, but if he absolutely adores her and wants to spend all his time with her, you better be prepared to marry TWO people! That means meddling in your marriage, pressuring you for grandchildren, constant unwanted advice… you get the idea. 6 The Know-it-all More often than not, this guy and the control freak guy will actually be the same guy… so definitely steer clear of winding up married to this pain in the bum of a husband! The know-it-all will constantly interrupt, correct, undermine, patronize, and anger you to no end with their relentless desire for always being right. Could you actually handle being Mrs. Know-it-all? Don’t do it! 7 The Control Freak It’s good to have your man take charge every once in a while – but not completely. It can get a little exhausting spending all your time with a guy who simply refuses to relinquish or even share the control, and it’s a classic sign that he doesn’t trust you! What you really want is someone who is somewhere between this guy and the pushover… 8 The Bear Girls like their men to be men, and it’s important for a guy to possess the masculine qualities required for being a good male partner and an even better father, but do you really want to become the domesticated housewife who only talks about screaming babies, poopy diapers, real estate, school systems and rising taxes while your husband can only talk about beer, sports, and going fishing with the guys? 9 The Turbo That being said, go too far the other way and you’ll end up with one of those “turbo” fitness freaks who cares more about his abs, pecks, and biceps than he does about you. The body might turn you on, but sooner or later his attitude will turn you off… every day for the rest of your life until divorce or sweet death. 10 The Pushover As much as a girl might like to get her own way, and gets a certain level of satisfaction from winning an argument over her boyfriend, there’s nothing sexy about a guy who constantly allows himself to get knocked down, pushed around, tread on, and just generally is your doormat. This might sound appealing at first but once you’re married, you’ll grow to resent it.
