Earlier there were reports that Madhuri Dixit will replace Sridevi in Karan Johar’s ‘Shiddat’. Now, the news is confirmed by Janhvi Kapoor that Madhuri is the confirmed name in the movie. Janhvi took to her Instagram account to share the news. She wrote, “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart …Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film…”

Produced by Dharma in collaboration with Fox Stars and Sajid Nadiadwala, the movie will be helmed by Abhishek Varman. ‘Shiddat’ is a period drama set in the 1940s and it is expected to go on floors next year. The entire look of the cast is designed by Manish Malhotra.
