Varun Dhawan is a popular actor in B Town among the younger generation of the Industry. He was born in the year 1987 on 24th April to the popular film director David Dhawan and Karuna Dhawan, which gave him a strong movie background making things simple for him to get an easy entry in Bollywood. All his cousins Anil Dhawan and Siddharth Dhawan along with his own elder brother Rohit Dhawan are established name in the Indian film industry. He completed his junior college from the H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. Dhawan has a degree in Business Management from the Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom. When he returned to India, he worked as assistant director for the My Name is Khan produced by Karan Johar in the year 2010 to get an insight about the industry.

He was applauded for his acting and dancing skills where in even the critics were seen giving accolated by calling him exceptionally talented and enormously confident young man, which is hard to find in any newbie in the industry. Many entertainment channels and leading print magazines were seen applauding in chorus about his talents and skills, which he showcased in his debut movie. Varun Dhawan upcoming movie comprises of the comedy remake of a Telugu movie called Kandireega called Main Tera Hero, which is directed by his father and produced by Ekta Kapoor. Besides, he is also busy in another comedy romance called Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania that happens to be the upcoming project of Dharma Production with Alia Bhatt. The other film announced is the sequel of Anybody Can Dance, which is to be shot in LA (USA).

Apart from his acting career, Varun Dhawan is also seen supporting a number of charitable organizations for which he has performed different shows. He was also seen raising money for the Uttarakhand’s flood affected Victims with people like Sidhart Malhotra, Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Aditya Roy Kapur. Early last year, she was seen performing at the Filmfare, Stardust and Screen awards along with the international events based in Hong Kong with Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. He also hosted a segment of the Filmfare and Stardust awards with Ayushman Khurana and Sidharth Malhotra respectively. Some of his recent movies include Dilwale, Dishoom and ABCD 2, while his upcoming movies include the sequel – Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Judwaa 2.

Alongside his acting career, he also performs on stage and has co-hosted two award ceremonies. In 2013, he performed at the Filmfare, Screen, and Stardust award ceremonies, and at an event in Hong Kong. Also, he hosted the 2013 Stardust Awards ceremony with Sidharth Malhotra and Ayushmann Khurrana, and a segment of the 59th Filmfare Awards. He was also part of the 20th Screen Awards, co-hosting the show alongside Shahrukh Khan and Richa Chadda. In the year 2013, Dhawan performed at a special event alongside Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor and Huma Qureshi to raise funds for the flood-affected victims of Uttarakhand

As far as the awards are concerned, Varun Dhawan was nominated for his debut movie in a number of award shows like Stardust, Filmfare, Screen, Big Star Entertainment Awards, ETC Bollywood Business Awards, Bollywood Hungama Surfers’ Choice Movie Awards, Time of India Awards, Zee Cine Awards and Lion Gold Awards. However, he won the best debut category only for the Stardust and Lions Gold awards. He also won new face award and promising newcomer at other known platforms. He appears on different magazine covers, while in his personal life, he is still single and not ready to mingle despite being the most eligible bachelor in B Town as he is focusing more on his career.
