Vidya Balan- She may have carved a niche for herself in Bollywood, but Vidya Balan’s journey was far from easy. The multiple award winning actress who served as jury member at the Cannes Film Festival last year, faced a lot of disappointments. Before she got selected for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film Parineeti, the actress went through 40 screen tests and had to do 17 make up shoots before the director selected her as his film’s heroine. The actress who started her career with TV and was a known face on Ekta Kapoor’s popular serial Hum Paanch, tried her hands at regional cinema. She was first rejected by a Tamil producer and her Malayalam film opposite superstar Mohanlal titled Chakram was shelved. Vidya then debuted as a model in 1998 with the Surf Excel ad. The actress apparently is a cleanliness freak and allegedly suffers from OCS (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). She is also said to have played cupid for all her friends and loved to set her friends up.
