Sushant Singh Rajput is known B Town actor who hails from Purnia, Bihar. He was born on 21 January 1986 in a government officer family of doctors and brought up in New Delhi when he was too young. He did his schooling from Kulachi Hansraj Model School; he then went to Delhi College of Engineering, but after his third year in his engineering to pursue the dreams of becoming an actor. All his siblings are well settled in their careers, while he is the youngest member in his family. While still he was a student at Delhi College of Engineering, Sushant enrolled in Shiamak Davar’s dance classes and later thought of becoming an actor so he soon joined the acting classes. Here, he found his passion for acting, as he once said, “I found the experience liberating. I realized that I could communicate with the audience. I knew I wanted to do this forever.
Once Sushant S Rajput headed to Mumbai to pursue his acting career, he got involved in theaters and acted in a number of plays apart from taking up the drama classes. In 2008, he got the chance to work with the Balaji Telefim’s daily soap called Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, wherein he played the character of a jovial man called Prem Juneja. His character was appreciated, which soon gave him another TV serial called Pavitra Rishta at Zee TV, which started his on and off screen chemistry with his co actor – Ankita Lokhande. The couple was awarded for their performance at various junctures. Later the two also appeared in a dance reality show called Zara Nachke Dikha 2 wherein he was the part and parcel of the Mast Kalandar Boys Team. Soon, in 2011, he left the serial Pavitra RIshta to move abroad pursue a filmmaking course.
After returning to Mumbai, Sushant Singh Rajput was called for the audition of Kai Po Che, which gave him the role for the same. The movie turned out to be a big hit, which was based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel. He succumbed positive reviews for the said character from different quarters. Soon, he got Yash Raj Films’ venture called Shuddh Desi Romance opposite Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor, which was again a big hit again getting positive review for his performance. He will be seen in Aamir Khan’s PK as a guest appearance, while he has recently completed the movie called Detective Byomkesh Bakshy wherein he has the lead role in it. He was recently covered for the Bollywood biopic titled ‘M.S Dhoni – The Untold Story’, which will be releasing in 2015. He has won a number of awards for his debut movie under Best Male Debut apart from getting a number of TV awards as well.
His upcoming movies include the film by Dinesh Vijan called Raabta, co-starring Kriti Sanon, which will be releasing in June 2017. He has won award for the biopic film made on Dhoni under the category of Best Actor Critics at Screen Awards, while nominated for the same in Filmfare as well. Talking about his personal life, he was engaged with Ankita Lokhande and had been in live in relationship with her in Mumbai but as per the recent buzz, he called off his relationship. He proposed this lady over the national TV in February in the popular dance show called Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 4 and the couple intends to marry soon but now have separated. He is rumored to have relationship with his Rabta co-star Kriti Sanon and they are spotted at many places, which made the media to talk about the same. He also appeared in TV shows to promote his film MS Dhoni The Untold Story.
