Sidharth expressed his views regarding the Filmfare awards saying that the awards are taken seriously the year you win.
In an interview to Indian Express, Sidharth said that he appreciated the fact that actors and artists have come up and voiced their opinions. He said it is good that they are saying and opening what they think about the awards. But he also supported the jury of the awards saying that it is not fair to point out the names in particular but he did spoke of the awards as authentic.
Sidharth said,
“There is authenticity (in awards). If one takes winners of Filmfare, I wouldn’t disagree with the selection. Aamir Khan got for Dangal and the fact that he never attends any award but he was awarded because he gave an amazing performance speaks about the authenticity of the award. Alia Bhatt and Sonam Kapoor got the awards which were again well deserved. Then where is the question of not being authentic? I think it’s not fair to take names and point fingers. Also, Filmfare nominated Fawad Khan , who wasn’t taken into consideration at most of the award ceremonies.”
Sidharth supported the winning of Alia Bhatt, his good friend, whom he said was well deserving of the award. Later he quoted Javed Akhtar’s lines which he had said once in connection to the awards years back. Javed saab had said that awards will be taken the year you win.
Sidharth said,
“There was a very interesting quote or something that Javed saab said that you take awards seriously the year you get them. That’s the best philosophy to follow because it is something that happens at the end of the year.”
