A source of HT was quoted saying, “The boy said he dropped the plan to use poison and bought a knife on September 7 from a shop near Anaj Mandi, Sohna, but by the evening he was not sure of using the weapon either, considering the brutality involved in stabbing someone. He again thought of using poison by mixing it in the school’s water tank. Still, he carried the knife to school in his pocket the next day.”
The boy confessed to buying the knife from the Shohna, however, neither the shopkeeper, not the accused was able to identify each other.
A CBI source was quoted as saying to HT, “Investigators suspect that after killing the student by slitting his throat, the accused deliberately threw the weapon, a knife which he procured a day before the murder from Sohna, in the commode of the toilet where the incident took place on September 8.”
According to the report of HT, the accused told the interrogators that he was worried of the consequences. He even thought of how would he feel if somebody does the same thing to his younger brother. He went ahead with the plan anyway.
He saw Thakur in a corridor on 8th September 2017, whom he knew from the music classes they took together. He asked Thakur to help him with something. Thakur agreed to the same. But, accused left the place in a rush and went to the music room, as he was feeling restless. When he returned he saw the toilet unlocked.
The source said to HT, “When he came back to the toilet, he found the victim still waiting for him. He then decided to go ahead with the plan to stab the boy,”
According to the report of The Hindu, the accused said that Thakur vomited blood after the first cut. He fell down on the knife, which gave him a second and deeper cut.
After the incident, he went out and saw the gardener and told about the mishap. He told him that the boy is lying injured in the toilet. He also told the sports and music teachers about what he saw.
According to the HT report, accused told investigators, ” I felt guilty but I was praying for the boy. Later I learned he was no more.”
The legal-cum-probation officer, Nisha Saini has been appointed to investigate and submit the report within 15 days. The accused will most probably send to a psychiatric examination. The psychiatric result will play a very import part in the decision taken by the board.
