Kiara Advani was born on the 31st of July, 1992 to businessman Jagdeep Advani and his wife Genevieve Jaffrey in Mumbai. The couple also have a son, Mishaal, who is Kiara’s younger brother. Her father is a Sindhi while her mother is half Muslim and half British.
Kiara does not have any background in modeling but she does have an active connection to the film industry. Her maternal grandfather, Hameed Jaffrey, was the brother of Saeed Jaffrey, who was a popular character actor in the 80s and 90s. Jaffrey’s second wife, after his divorce, was Bharati Patel, who is the eldest daughter of veteran actor Ashok Kumar. Kiara also has a relation with actress Juhi Chawla, who is her aunt. Kiara is also strongly supported by superstar Salman Khan, who has been a mentor to her.
EDUCATION AND CAREER
Kiara Advani completed her scholling from Cathedral And John Connon School, Mumbai. She later graduated from Jai Hind College, Mumbai as a Mass Communication student. Before she began her advent in Bollywood, Kiara also completed two short courses in acting from veteran actor Anupam Kher’s acting school, Actor Prepares, and Roshan Taneja’s institute.
The Rajkumar Hirani directorial, 3 Idiots, was pivotal in Kiara’s life as it was this film which influenced her father to allow her to pursue a career in Bollywood. Kiara made her debut in 2014 with Kabir Sadanand’s Fugly, produced by Ashwini Yardi and co-starring Mohit Marwah, Vijender Singh, Arfi Lamba and Jimmy Shergill. The film, pitted as a ‘social thriller with a message’ released on the 13th of June and received mix reviews. Kiara’s performance was hailed by some critics, like Taran Adarsh from Bollywood Hungama. Similarly, Mehul Thakkar of the Deccan Chronicle described her performance as being “very striking” and that the actress “shows a lot of promise”.
After her debut, Kiara also starred in the superhit film, M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, who played the title role. Kiara essayed the role of Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi, in the film. She received a lot of rave reviews for her performance. The actress was congratulated by the real Sakshi Dhoni for her portrayal in the film. Kiara will be next seen in the Abbas- Mustan directorial, Machine, in 2017. The film also marks the debut of Mustan’s son, Mustafa.
