Emraan Hashmi was born on 24th March 1979 in Mumbai, Maharashtra.


Emraan started his acting career with the Footpath where he shares screen space with Aftab Shivdasani and Bipasha Basu.


Emraan Hashmi’s father’s name is Anwar Hashmi who was also a struggling actor and featured in a movie “Baharon Ki Manzil” in 1968.


His mother’s Catholic and her name is Maherrah Hashmi.


Stars from the house proved as Emraan is cousins of the film director Mohit Suri and actresses Pooja Bhatt and Alia Bhatt.


 Emraan is the nephew of the filmmaker Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt with whom he shares a cordial relationship. In fact, it was Mahesh Bhatt who launched Emraan as an actor.


Emraan Hashmi made his acting with another newcomer Mallika Sherawat in the crime thriller “Murder”.
