Soon after the famous pop singer Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child together their feed was flooded with wishes and congratulatory notes. But what made it a double joy was the name of their bundle of joy! Yessss… the couple, who both are goodwill ambassadors for Unicef, announced the little girl’s arrival along with her adorable name.
Breaking the year’s biggest news on UNICEF’s Instagram feed along with a monochromatic photo, where both Perry and Bloom could be seen holding the little one’s hand, with a daisy on Perry’s nail—the best way to hint a name, yes that’s the name of baby girl, Daisy Dove!! “Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and @OrlandoBloom’s new bundle of joy,” read Unicef’s post.
The organisation went ahead to share a message from the new proud parents. “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” Katy and Orlando told Unicef. “But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.”
