I Am A Huge Fan Of SRK- Priya Banerjee

Priya Banerjee, the Jazbaa girl talks about her excitement of working with such huge stars and what she has learned from them. She further talks about how she is in her real life which you all would love to know.

After Jazbaa, what are you upto nowadays?

First of all, I am glad that I am getting good reviews for the movie. The movie is also great. Right now, I am kind of gearing up for my new project which is going to start very shortly in a few days. So, I am just getting ready for that.

How was working with Miss World, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan?

It was great, it was very honorable because I am a very huge fan of Aishwarya. I have watched all her movies and I think she is one of the most stunning woman in the world. I am sure sure everyone does. It was very exciting. When I first got the movie, i couldn’t even believed that I would be working with Aishwarya, Irrfan khan, Shabana mam. So, it was a great honor.

So, how does it feel that the whole movie is based on your character? Aishwarya Rai is fighting for you in the whole movie?

It feels very special. Many few people can say that in the world that “Aishwarya Rai is fighting for me”. I can say that because she is fighting for me throughout the movie. She is great and she has done a fab job.

You worked with a group of amazingly talented actor, like irrfan khan, Aishwarya, Jackie shroff and Shabana Azmi. What did you learn? How did you feel being the part of the team?

As a first movie, I get to work with such amazinng actors. They are stars, Aishwarya Rai, Jackie & Shabana mam, who plays my mother in the movie. To work with them was a pressure initially, the pressure of going unnoticed, because there are such people who are amazing at their work. First, I was really nervous but then when I was on set and I worked with Shabana mam and Jackie Shroff and Aishwarya, it felt so easy to work with them, it was just amazing, they are really humble, so sweet and I did not find difficult at all to work with them.

You had done Telugu movies. From Tollywood to Bollywood, how has the journey been?

It has been a very smooth transition. It was all unplanned. Even south movies were’nt planned for me, neither was bollywood. I came here to acting and I got south Indian movies. I enjoyed it and then I got the offer of Jazbaa, you’ve heard the story, it was a very smooth transition, I was like why not.

Working in which industry is more difficult? Is it Bollywood or Tollywood?

Nothing is difficult, if you enjoy what you do. Infact, I love acting, what I do, so it wasn’t difficult neither south, nor bollywood.

Wasn’t their a language problem?

Initially yes, when I started. I never watched South Indian movies, growing up in Canada. I have seen a lot of hindi movies though but not south. It was difficult at the beginning. The first film was based on my character completely and I had so many scenes and many dialogs and I was freaking out because I did not understand Telugu so I had to work really hard. I had to really put in a lot of efforts, I tries to understand. But luckily, I got a good production house and they sent someone in to teach me. But now after 3 movies, I’ve pretty much learned Telugu now.

In India, youngsters have inspiration in Bollywood. Who is your inspiration in Bollywood?

In Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra is the only one who inspires me a lot. I love her journey. She was a beauty Peagent, how she has come up from there. She is taking over the world, she is doing Quantico also. To see someone like Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut who don’t have a GodFather in the industry and they’ve come so far in the industry on their own.

We have seen a lot of you on screen. We want to know what Priya Banerjee is like in her real life?

I am actually very chilled out person. I am here, I love what I do, I enjoy everything completely. I am  a very fun person, I am very easy going. Apparently, all the parts I’ve played are very different from who I am but I have a lil bit of my qualities in them as well.

Your fans would love to know, how you pass your free time?

I watch movies. I am a big ‘movie’ person. I am really here and there. I read, I love listening music and dancing. So, I try when I am home alone. I turn on music and dancing around the house.

What’s your dream project? Or Who is your dream actor?

I would love to work with Irrfan Khan. As I’ve already worked with him but I actually want to “work” with him properly, doing a proper film with him. And I am a HUGE FAN of ShahRukh Khan, so fingers crossed, hopefully some day!

What are your new projects in Bollywood?

I am going to start a new projectg very soon, very different from Jazbaa. Can’t talk much about it right now.

Any message for your fans

If you haven’t watched Jazbaa, please go and watch it, it’s a great movie and of course, Aishwarya has made a comeback after so long, she has done a fab job. I have done an okay job i think but go and do watch it!
