Elena Kazan is German- Russian in origin. She has acted in many films including Bengali , Hindi, English. She is presently in news for being one amongst the contestants of Big Boss 10, a reality show on Colors Channel. Starting her career from Bengali film in the year 2010, Elena has acted in a variety of roles.
Elena Kazan was born in Moscow, Russia to German parents. Her parents were German immigrants in Russia. Her mother is a nurse while her father is a professor of economics. She grew up in Ukraine and Berlin. She came to Kolkata working as a German teacher. From there she got in touch with Kolkata film makers and bagged a role in the film Clerk in 2010. She acted opposite accomplished Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee. Later she acted in the Anglo- Hindi film, Gandhi to Hitler. She was cast in a small role in the movie.
With this she got noticed by film makers and was cast in the Saif Ali Khan and Kareina Kapoor starrer film, Agent Vinod again in a small role. Elena got recognition as an actress when she was cast in the Naseeruddin Shah starrer film John Day. She played the role of Tabassum Habibi, an alcohol addict trying to escape from her past. She was Randeep Hooda’s girlfriend in the movie.
In the movie, Prague, which came in 2013, Elena got an even more impactful role. The movie got good critical appreciation. This was followed by the English film Ruined Hearts. She portrayed the female lead in the movie.This brought her much recognition. She also worked in the movie Aasma as a kashmiri Girl.
Elena is now a wild card entry in the show Big Boss10 on Colors channel. She got voted out from the show after one week of her entry. The other wild card entrants were Priyanka Jagga, Jason Shah and Sahil Anand.
