Music icon, The Weeknd is someone who has a big heart and is always there to support the causes he believes in. After making generous donation to the ‘Black Lives Matter movement’, ‘MusiCares’ COVID-19 relief fund’, the ‘Colin Kaepernick Know Your Rights Camp Legal Defense Initiative’, and the ‘National Bail Out’, the 30-year-old Canadian singer once again showed his kind-heart by making another sizable donation to relief funds in Beirut.
To help Lebanon to overcome this tragic fatality and loss, the ‘Bright Lights’ musician reportedly donated USD 300,000 to Global Aid for Lebanon, on August 12, which will be used to assist victims of the explosion that shook Beirut last week. To announce the kind gesture of the singer, his manager Wassim Sal Slaiby, took to social media, writing, “I am so honoured and humbled to work with artist’s who have such deep care for the world and right now for our brothers & sisters of Lebanon who are in pain and need our collective help,” he wrote on Instagram. “I want to thank my brother @theweeknd for his generous and class act of donating USD 300,000 to the Global Aid for Lebanon campaign.”

The manager further wrote, “Also, I want to give a special thank you to Michael Rapino @michaelrapino and my Live Nation family for USD 50,000 donation. As per reports from Beirut, nearly 135 people have lost their lives and nearly 5,000 people are reported to be injured after the massive chemical explosion on August 4 in Lebanon’s capital city.
