Dhriti Saharan is the pretty actress from Punjabi films who recently worked in many hit films. Starting her career from the film Pure Punjabi, the actress has five releases till now. Each of them was moderately successful while she won an award for the film Sadda Haqq. Although she is originally from Kolkata, she has not worked in Bengali films. She has been active in the Punjabi film industry. Dhriti has impressed the Punjabi audience not only by her acting skills but with her beautiful looks and elegance.
Dhriti Saharan was born in Kolkata. She was a very smart girl with quick wits and intelligence. She was equally good at studies as she was at singing and dancing. Her penchant for singing brought her laurels in various singing competitions. She did very well in her school’s cultural programs. She emerged as a winner in both dance and singer. But later in her life after her schooling, she decided to take up engineering as a career. She graduated in Engineering with flying colors. Along with her studies she followed her passion for modeling. She got offers from both modeling and film industry and she chose to make her mark in the field of acting. Dhriti was noticed by critics as very impactful and natural in the movies. She started her career in the year 2013 and in these three years she has emerged as a successful actress.
Dhriti’s first movie in Punjabi films was Pure Punjabi in 2012. She was nominated for the best debut award in PTC Punjabi films award in 2013. Dhriti did not manage to win the award but she was noticed for her fine performance. She later got the opportunity to act in a Telugu film titled Love Touch. Dhriti did a fine work in the film but it failed to make any mark. Her next release was Punjabi. It was Sadda Haqq for which she won the Best actress Critics award at PTC awards.
In 2014, Dhriti acted in a hindi film titled Teri Meri Zindagi which was directed by Bengali film maker Partho Ghosh.
In 2016 she was again seen in the film Vaapsi. She starred opposite Harish Verma.
