Deepika Padukone has come up a long way in her Bollywood industry since she started way back in 2007 with âOm Shanti Omâ. Over the years she has proved herself as an actor and her last two flicks âPikuâ and âBajirao Mastaniâ are the testimony of it. Last year, when we heard that she is all set to make her first Hollywood debut, we were all excited to see her on the silver screen with Vin Diesel.
In a latest interview to Hindustan Times, the âPikuâ actress revealed about her Hollywood Journey. She said, âThe world is waking up to [new] talent. Having said that, it is all about whether an actor suits a role or not. An actor should be cast in a movie only if his or her talent brings something unique to the table. I donât think an actorâs religion, gender, or the region he or she belongs to, should be the reason to sign him or her for a film.â
Even she goes on to say that the journey from Bollywood to Hollywood was very difficult. She adds, âInitially, I didnât feel like I was ready [to take up an international project]. I was offered films in the past too, but they just didnât feel right. I have always followed my heart and my instinct. It is up to you to say yes or no to a role that doesnât excite you. The films I was offered earlier didnât excite me.â
Recently, we have even witnessed her in the trailer of âXxX: The Return Of Xander Cageâ and we are really excited for her release in 2017. Back in India, she has signed a film âPadmavatiâ with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. We just wish that she wins the heart of millions of her fans with her first debut film.
