She started doing Theatre stage shows during her education days. It was than she started working in movies from late seventies. She first starred in the 1979’s movie Sinhasan, 1980’s movie Kalyug and than Aakrosh in the same year. After a haitus of five years, she again starred in Nasoor in 1985. She got a major breakthrough with her role in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Since than, she never looked back and appeared in many blockbuster movies like Maine Pyar Kiya, Aashiqui, Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Vaastav, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Saath-Saath Hain.
Over the years, she has played mother to Shah Rukh Khan in Kal Ho Na Ho, Salman Khan in Hum Saath Saath Hai and Sanjay Dutt in Vaastav. This is not all, she has also worked in several television serials since 1985. She first appeared in TV serial Khandaan in 1985, Mahanagar in 1988, Kirdaar in 1993, Aasmaan Se Aagay in 1994. She than worked in comedy serial Shriman Shrimati, where she played the character of Kokila Kulkarni. Her longest running serial was Tu Tu Main Main, which started in 1994 and ended in 2000.
Reema Lagoo’s death is surely a huge loss to the film and TV industry. May God give strenth to her close ones.
