Varun Dhawan Feels Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya As A Biopic For Him
Currently, there is a trend of making biopics on real life individuals that has caught the Indian film industry. Several Bollywood directors are working on a biopic after seeing commercial success and critical acclaim of films like Azhar, Mary Kom and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Just like the directors, many actors and actress are getting towards this new trend.
Recently, Shoaib Akhtar said in an interview that he wants to see Salman Khan reprising his role in his biopic if made. The next film to join the league is the biopic on the greatest Indian Hockey player of all time, Dhyan Chand.
Being announced some years back, the movie is still looking for the worthy contender to portray the role of the hockey legend. It was reported last month that Ranbir Kapoor is being considered and approached for the role, but no further step taken ahead. Later on, Varun Dhawan was offered the role but the actor has other things to say.
On the matter of approached for the role of Dhyan Chand, he stated that he has not been offered Dhyan Chand. He knows it’s the current trend to do biopics, but it’s not something that excites him right now. He also clarified that he has in mind to do biopics if only an unusual story comes in his way.
He further added My next film Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya is a biopic for me. I am playing a boy from Jhansi. Director Shashank Khaitan has drawn this character very realistically and that’s the way he shoots it, too. I try to do every film of mine like a biopic. In Dishoom, I play Junaid Ansari who is probably some boy whose parents live in India but then he has to shift and live there.”
