Vahbiz Dorabjee Opens Up About Body-Shaming, Trolling, and Overcoming Morphed Images Scandal
Vahbiz Dorabjee, known for her role as Panchi Dobriyal in *Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahaani*, has garnered praise for her versatility in TV shows like *Savitri Ek Prem Kahani* and *Bahu Hamari Rajnikant*. In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress opened up about her experiences with body-shaming, personal struggles, and the pressures of being in the public eye.
Body Shaming and Career Pressures
Vahbiz candidly shared her battle with body-shaming, which began early in her career. She recalled being thin during *Pyaar Ki Yeh Ek Kahaani*, but over time, the stress and long hours on set, combined with hyperthyroidism, caused her to gain weight. Despite her best efforts, she couldn’t lose the weight, which led to criticism from not only society but also from friends and family. Vahbiz explained, “Society was pulling me down, friends were making fun, family was making fun. It put me into depression until one day I decided, ‘This is who I am. Take it or leave it.’”
Empowerment and Change
Reflecting on the shift in society’s perception of beauty, Vahbiz expressed joy that more women are embracing their bodies, regardless of size. She praised the rise of plus-size models and influencers, noting, “Women now are empowered, educated, and embracing who they are. No one has the right to put you down.”
Dealing with Morphed Images
Vahbiz also addressed the time her morphed images went viral on social media. While she acknowledged the impact, she emphasized that the initial hurt came from those closest to her. “More than trolling, it’s always friends and family who make rude comments first,” she said, adding, “In this digital world, it’s hard to stop these things.”
Vahbiz’s candid interview sheds light on the struggles many women face and the importance of self-acceptance and empowerment.
