This has not gone down well with several people for obvious reasons and she was brutally slammed for her racist comments. To which comedian replied,

Hi @jess_hilarious, becoming alarmed by a Sikh man in a turban on a plane & viewing him as a threat is being complicit w/ white supremacy. Do you know that the Sikh turban stands for fighting injustice & oppression? Our communities must stand together, not tear each other down. https://t.co/3sBPJp3uhc

And I know the difference between Sikh and Muslim. Just wanted to point out that islamophobia and Muslim hatred makes
Turban = Muslim = terrorist
Most aren’t gonna clarify and Sikh folk will be harmed by Islamophobia

My community, the Sikh community, has been under attack since 9/11. I am so proud that we have not responded by trying to differentiate ourselves from Muslims but by standing in solidarity with them. I am thankful to organizers who have helped us embrace this frame.

Dam I’m disappointed is #JessHilarious you felt threatened by a man that was 3+ people in front of you minding his business just getting on the plane? Nah you racially profiled him and it wasn’t funny

I think what makes me disgusted by this #JessHilarious issue is that she is justifying her actions like, see they didn’t let them back on the plane.
That doesn’t mean they were guilty of anything. That means the airline used her ignorance to promote racism and dehumanize them. pic.twitter.com/GLr1XceDzV— NeNe (@NeishaNe79) March 17, 2019

As minorities we complain about the racism & discrimination we feel as a community and you just made another group of ppl experience that. You don’t deserve the platform you have if you continue to try to justify this ignorant act. It’s disappointing & disgusting. #jesshilarious https://t.co/ggT5YL6hb5
