The Legendary actress late Sridevi’s daughter, Jahnvi Kapoor’s most awaited debut in Bollywood has finally touchdown the next phase as the trailer of her debut movie, ‘Dhadak’, released today! Both Jahnvi and Ishaan Khatter seem to have done a splendid job and their chemistry is being appreciated by all!
Dressed in a green Manish Malhotra salwar-kameez,it was quite apparent that Janhvi Kapoor decided to dress up like, ‘Parthavi’, her character in the film. Ishaan Khatter wore a simple grey t-shirt along with denims. He finished off the look with a red jacket and basketball shoes from Fila. He reminded us all of Shahid’s early days!
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed Marathi Blockbuster, Sairat, which is the doomed love story of two youngsters belonging to different castes. On being asked what love means to her, Jahnvi Kapoor said, “Love is friendship.” Whereas, Ishaan Khatter said, “Dekhiye, pyaar aur mohabbat pe toh humari zindagi kurbaan hai. Hum jo kuch bhi hai, it’s because of the love of our parents and our friends and our peers. So, I think love is everything.”
Talking about the first day of shoot, Jahnvi Kapoor said, “It was a lot of fun. We weren’t that nervous because Shashank had already established a very safe environment for us. We were already like a family. I was really excited to be in front of the camera. I remember that I didn’t sleep all night.” While Ishaan Khatter said, “It was just generally a very euphoric environment. I remember asking Shashank multiple times, ‘Is it okay? Are we getting what we wanted?’ Because we were having so much fun that we forgot we were working!”
Jahnvi Kapoor was asked what tips had she got from her mother Sridevi on her debut film and her entry into Bollywood. She said, “The biggest and most helpful tip that she has given me is to work hard and feel every emotion, and I think that I have tried to do that. She was very technical about it. The first thing she told me was the things I needed to improve — she felt the mascara was smudged and it really bothered her. The second half has to be different, she told me… ‘You can’t wear anything on your face.’ That’s all she told me, but she was happy.”
Jahnvi had earlier said, Sridevi had seen 25 minutes of Dhadak and given her feedback on that. The tips and the feedback given by Sridevi shall forever remain etched in her memory!
