Shahrukh Khan excels in the role of young romantic in love with Rani Mukherjee and later as a mature man coming to terms that he loves his best buddy Anjali. Kajol excelled as tomboy in the first part of the film who loses her love, and comes back as a great sari clad feminine character to win him again.
