Farhan Akhtar’s second directorial movie, ‘Lakshya’ didn’t create a box-office record like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ but the movie about the maturing of a direction-less upper-middle-class youth was enough to create an impact. Based on the central character Karan Shergill (Hrithik Roshan), the story in its quintessence deals with his ‘growing up’ as a characteristically confused son of a well off businessman who is not just at ease but full of bliss to drift along. However the easy going guy seems to be gradually bothered as he finds himself left behind in the race of success. Like so many of us in real life he too ultimately lands up in a profession rather than willfully choosing one. The movie brilliantly touches upon that phase and that segment of the young crowd.
