One of the distinctly admirable and splendid hindi movies of Indian Cinema was directed by K. Asif in 1960. It was made under the banner of Sterling Investment Corporation and is a milestone in Bollywood history. It is the epic story of Mughal Prince Salim who falls in love with a court dancer, Anarkali, to his father Akbar’s disapproval instigating a war between them. The film’s music is a fine blend of Indian classical and contemporary tunes. Apart from all the interruptions and pauses it faced,Mughal-e-Azam turned out to be a most expensive Indian film of that time.
