As everyone expected Fugay was a major head turner at the box office. If you have two big stars Swapnil Joshi and Subodh Bhave playing the two close friends in Dostana like plot you have no reason to resist this one. It will surely get you attracted to this comic drama that comes with all the jazz and aplomb. Was worked better was the fact that this was not just another gay comedy but a different and healthy take of same sex relationship which people welcomed with open arms.
On the first day of it’s release the movie did a decent business at the box office and got a collection of 11.26 crore. The other Marathi release Dhyanimani did not put much competition for the film as it dealt with a more serious subject. Fugay got the attention of the audience right away thanks to great publicity and positive word of mouth. The movie progressed with a better turn out on the weekends. On Saturday the total collection was around 15.23 crore with a major share coming from Mumbai and Pune. Nagpur and Nasik too added a good sum to the total collection. This was followed by another good earning day on Sunday which was about 16.67 crore. The movie was a total entertainer with youths and family coming to enjoy this terrific comedy. Thanks to the popularity of the leading actors, there were high expectations and the audience was not disappointed.
Fugay continued it’s good run into Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. It ended with the collection of 25 crore in these weekends making the total collection up to 32 crore till now.
