During their stay in the USA, the couple got to know about Down syndrome and decided to adopt a baby girl with Down syndrome. Since they were on work-permit in the USA, they were not allowed to register with CARA. Therefore, they came back to Indian in 2017 to get themselves registered. They adopted their little princess Veda, who has Down syndrome. She completes the life of Kavita and Himanshu. Kavita considers her journey magnificent, as little Veda has accepted them completely.
