The National Award winning director-producer Maneesh Sharma and Sharat Katariya are coming up with their next flick ‘Sui Dhaaga’ starring Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma.
Varun is playing the role of Mauji in the movie. Mauji is a tailor by profession and to learn the skill of tailoring he gave his three months. In a statement, Varun said, “I knew that I had a task at hand. I knew I had to master the art to convince people that I am a real ‘masterji’. Darshan (the costume designer) and Noor bhai (the tailor on the sets) helped me a lot and I gave it three months to learn this skill.”
He said that learning how to tailor was not easy for him. He had to face challenges. He said, “As an actor, I like to get challenged to become someone else on-screen.”
“It was frustrating because initially, I wasn’t getting it right. The needle pierced my fingers multiple times. (But) I’m so glad that I went through the drill because I have picked up a new skill in the process. It took me 3 months… Sometimes 2 hours and sometimes 4 hours in each tailoring class to get the confidence that I could pull this off in front of the camera,” added the Judwaa 2 actor.
The trailer received a great applause and praise from the critics as well as the audiences. ‘Sui Dhaaga’ is about entrepreneurship and self-reliance. It is slated to release on 28th September.
