Shraddha Kapoor Shares Her Thoughts on Pay Parity in Bollywood and Rising Actor Remuneration

Shraddha Kapoor, known for her candid and down-to-earth nature, never hesitates to speak her mind. With a remarkable career in Bollywood, delivering hits like Stree and its recent sequel Stree 2, the actress has built a strong presence in the industry. Recently, she shared her views on the ongoing issue of pay parity in the film world and expressed optimism about the positive shifts taking place. She also touched upon the rising remuneration for leading stars over the years and acknowledged that producers play a pivotal role in determining these factors.

At a launch event, Shraddha reflected on the transformation she has witnessed in the industry since her debut with *Teen Patti* in 2010. She revealed that her earnings have significantly increased over the past 14 years but emphasized that a gap in pay between male and female actors still exists. However, she is hopeful about the gradual progress being made to close this gap.

Addressing the topic of rising star fees, Shraddha mentioned that the decisions about actor remuneration and what’s best for the production of a film ultimately lie with the producers. She explained that some producers have a forward-looking approach, recognizing the evolving landscape of the industry. “Whatever is going to work positively in the making of a film, the way it is supposed to be made, those calls the producers will have to take. It’s their vision. I feel like there are a few who have a long-term vision and really know where the industry is headed,” she said, adding that there is no uniform approach across the board.

On the work front, Shraddha Kapoor continues to enjoy massive success. One of the most-followed Indian celebrities globally and daughter of veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, she has delivered several blockbuster films over the years.

Her latest film, Stree 2, a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, turned out to be a box office success, grossing over Rs 800 crore and cementing her status as a leading actress in Bollywood.
