Shahid Kapoor Used To Smoke 20 Cigarettes A Day And Shower For Two Hours Before Meeting His Kids, Here Is Why
Shahid Kapoor will next be seen in Kabir Singh, the official remake of Arjun Reddy. The movie has been making news ever since it was announced. Earlier this week, the teaser of Kabir Singh was released. In the teaser, Shahid can be seen snorting cocaine, smoking cigarettes and hurling abuses. The teaser is spectacular and also shows the dedication and hard work of the actor.
From being a staunch sober in real life to playing a hardcore smoker and drinker was a tough task for Shahid Kapoor. While talking about his preparation for the role in an interview with entertainment daily Mumbai Mirror, the actor said,
“I don’t endorse smoking at all. However, the role required it, as the protagonist uses it to channel his angst and rage. It wasn’t easy, and it came to a point where I smoked almost 20 cigarettes a day.”
Shahid further added that he used to bathe for two hours before he went to meet his kids Misha and Zain. He said, “It would take me close to two hours to shower and get rid of the smells before I could return home to my children.”

In Kabir Singh, Shahid is playing a short-tempered but brilliant medical student. The movie revolves around his character Kabir, who is an alcoholic surgeon. He starts doing drugs and smoking after his ex-girlfriend married someone else. The movie also features Kaira Advani in the female lead. The movie is scheduled to release on June 21.
