When Raees and Kaabil were clashing at the box office, the audiences as well as the box office revenue was expected to be divided. But on Wednesday morning, Rakesh Roshan’s got a shocking news when he realized that the distributors favored Raees over Kaabil by giving them 60% of the screens.
Papa Roshan accused team Raees of foul play and he also threatened to quit film making if this trend continued. He said that he was promised a 50-50 screen sharing which didn’t happen and in a strongly worded statement, Rakesh ji slammed the producers of Raees including Shah Rukh Khan.
While the screen sharing between the Hrithik Roshan starrer and the Shah Rukh Khan film was in the ratio of 60:40, both the films have performed well at the box office in their own boundaries.
SRK remained silent on the issue. But when asked if these allegations hurt him and he said, “No, nothing hurts me. I know what I do, I know what feelings I have. And the main feeling that I have is I do things above board and honestly. I don’t need to say it to anyone or prove it, specially on a public platform. I don’t need to be justifying anything. I have been here long enough. I respect everybody and more than that, I respect my honesty and my earnestness in the way I do business so I am not going to react to XYZ or anyone saying anything about me. You can say, ask, complain or talk.” But he added, “Personally, I have huge amount of respect for Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik. I love them and I wish them the best. I think their film is doing good enough, they should be happy.”
Shah Rukh Khan in an interview to a video channel also said, “I always keep my friendship and business separate and I feel It should be like that. They are my friends and I wished Hrithik and team Kaabil all the best. I hope their film does amazing business.”
Recently, SRK and Salman Khan patched up after a prolonged period of rivalry and a growing rift. We just hope this doesn’t become an invitation to another rift between two B-town superstars!
