The actor was recently awarded the Woman Icon of the Year Award and Rs. 5 lakh for her contribution to Indian cinema at an event. And the actress donated the amount to charity for the building of toilets in the country.
A source at the event revealed that the actress requested the organisers of the event to donate the amount to Swades Foundation which channels their resources to building toilets in rural India.
Swades Foundation is founded by Ronnie and Zarina Screwvala.Till now they have built 5397 toilets till date and have the plan to build a total of 25,000 + toilets in the next 3 years.
