Rustom Passes the 100 Crore Mark After A Successful 9 Day Run
Akshay Kumar might be more than just happy seeing that his recent release Rustom has made it across the 100 crore. It will many more before the weekend is done to its growing box office collection. The film has beaten the record of Akshay’s Airlift by reaching the mark in just 9 days, as Airlift took 10 days to make 100 crore on box office.
The movie has become the second blockbuster of 2016 after the much acclaimed Sultan. It has become the third film of Akshay after Housefull 3 and Airlift to reach the 100 crore mark this year. Rustom has an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Ileana D’Cruz, Arjun Bajwa and Esha Gupta who delivered a power packed performance in their roles.
Rustom has become clearly the latest addition in the number of hits given by Akshay Kumar.
In the opening weekend, the movie collected about Rs. 50.42 crore at domestic box office, the figures lowered significantly on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it returned to pace on the next day.
Rustom also beaten Shahrukh’s ‘Fan’ by earning Rs. 153.06 worldwide, with this figure it also became Akshay’s first film to reach the 150 crore mark.
The movie is based on the sensational Nanavati case, that changed the overall scenario of India judiciary system and gaining a lot of viewers due to the positive word of mouth.
