Rishabh Pant Exclusion From World Cup 2019 Squad Brings Out Hilarious Memes On Twitter
After lots of talks and anticipation, the selection committee of BCCI announced the team for biggest cricket extravaganza ICC World Cup 2019. The final team met with mixed reactions from fans and cricket experts, where the biggest shock came in the form of flamboyant Wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant not being selected for the World Cup squad. Selectors opted for more experienced Dinesh Karthik as MS Dhoni’s back up rather than 21-year-old young Delhi batsman.

Rishabh’s exclusion has created lots of talk among fans and cricket experts. Several former international cricketers have also expressed their disappointment over selector’s move to not include Rishabh Pant in the squad. Earlier it was speculated that Rishabh would play world cup along with Dhoni, which adds more firepower to batting in the middle order. After all, the middle order has always been a concern for India. Top three Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and skipper Virat Kohli make up for the power-packed top order, but Indian middle order has always struggled, especially if top order didn’t perform. However, selectors have told that Dinesh Karthik would play only if Dhoni gets injured or rested.
Rishabh Pant is a flamboyant cricketer, who is known for his explosive batting. He performed well in the test series in England and Australia. He is also playing beautifully in IPL 2019. However, selectors stated that they have opted for Dinesh Karthik for his better wicket-keeping skills.
